The contest of intelligence, sports, creativity and grace, Miss and Mr. Studentship of Saratov Region – 2023, was held on the big stage of the Y.P. Kiselyov Young Spectator Theater. From SSU, Alina Shamarina, a student of the Institute of Physics, and Margarita Rybakova, a student of the Faculty of Psychology, took part in it.

The competition consisted of three stages, in one of them the contestants demonstrated their intellectual abilities. In the format of an open microphone, they reflected on who their real mentor was. So, Alina Shamarina considered that her main mentor is time, as well as parents and close people. For Margarita Rybakova, the head of the children's border outpost "Dozornaya" S.A. Kozlov became a mentor. He taught her to look at life by changing the angle of view, and Margarita instills this very philosophy into the hearts of the fighters of the Russian student detachments of the Saratov region.

Creative numbers became another stage of the competition. The contestants demonstrated their talents in ballroom dancing, staged shows and even in theatrical performances.

Before the most exciting stage of the competition – the award ceremony – Alina Shamarina shared her feelings: "I would like to say that we have already exhaled... but there is an award ceremony ahead, so we can't relax. This is my first competition when I feel the excitement of waiting, because all the contestants are in the same conditions and are equal to each other in terms of the level and quality of their performances and opportunities."

Minister of Youth Policy and Sports of the Saratov region O.A. Dubovenko, coming on stage, noted the seething atmosphere of the hall: "Today, the best representatives of the student youth of the Saratov region have gathered here. Given the traditions that our region is strong with, there are students here who demonstrate themselves at the highest level. It is gratifying to see that the management of universities pays great attention to the development of the talents of their students. And we, the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports, will do such events for you regularly."

The hall actively supported its favorites with chants, flags and posters. When the names of the title holders were announced, the audience was covered with a wave of enthusiastic shouts, which overwhelmed the energy and encouraged the contestants.

Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Organisational Work Anton Golovchenko, Chair of the Council of SSU Undergraduates and Postgraduates Vyacheslav Bykov, as well as numerous students of various educational units and fighters of the Staff of SSU Student Brigades came to support the students who represented SSU at the contest "Miss and Mr. Studentship".

Margarita Rybakova believes that the victory of the participant of any competition is brought by the team that supports him. "Everyone thinks that the beauty and talent contest is for silly beautiful girls who just perform and go home in a crown. I had such an opinion when I decided to take part in the contest, but then my views changed. I realized that the Miss and Mr. Studentship contest is much more than just a beauty and talent contest. This is a contest of patience, strength, and most importantly – the team. I am proud to say that my victory depends on my team," Margarita said.

At the end of the evening, Alina Shamarina became the owner of the title "Miss Style", and Margarita Rybakova wore the crown and ribbon of the first vice-miss. The jury awarded the main titles to Polina Ivanova (P.A. Stolypin University) and Kirill Aleksakhin (SSTU).

When the award ceremony was over, the audience poured out onto the stage of the theater to present bouquets to their favorites and take memorable photos.
