On May, 16 Balashov Institute hosted a meeting of a famous public activist Ye.A. Primakov with professors, students, and Balashov citizens.
At the end of the event Yevgeniy Alexandrovich marked that notwithstanding the second part of the last V.V. Putin’s Presidential address was devoted to the modern armament, its first part was more important.
‘External policy is connected not only with our external security. It will give our country an opportunity to develop inwards. The life standard has been increased, but I suppose it’s time to develop more rapidly. It is a well-known fact I participate in a pre-poll election of the United Russia because I strongly believe our country would be strong not only due to its successful external policy but improvement of living standards inside Russia, in such cities as Balashov, Saratov, Atkarsk. People do not want to leave their hometowns if they can find a job there,’ commented Ye.A. Primakov.
According to his opinion, young specialists must become interested in vacancies depending on adequate labor conditions. Answering the question on the further educational system development Yevgeniy Alexandrovich said that young and talented teachers should work at school alongside with old experienced ones.
‘The system becomes stale in case it lacks new and young professionals. One of the variants of further development is to work by distribution, although it should not be extortionate. It is important to create appropriate labor conditions with high-quality Internet, good student’s books’, and fair wage and accommodation. In other regions something like that has been done in the healthcare system: interns have some grants paid by local hospitals in order they will work there after the graduation. From my point of view, young specialists should become engaged exactly like that,’ he highlighted.
Another question was dedicated to the school graduation exams. Thus, according to one history professor’s opinion, school students should pass history and social studies orally. Ye.A. Primakov answered that it is a complicated matter commenting on the National Unified Exams evolution.
‘In the beginning it was awful but now there have been a lot of changes. School students have passed their exams orally more often than before. As for me, it will be fair if the basic knowledge is checked via testing,’ added Yevgeniy Alexandrovich.
He pointed out that initially the idea was to give equal opportunities to school graduates to enter the university, according to the results of the National Unified Exams.
Moreover, the audience was interested in modern role models.
‘I would like to learn more about the people who have achieved something themselves: the pilots who fight in Syria, or a man who drew the fire upon himself in Palmyra, or our sportsmen – the Olympic and Paralympic winners, people who have worked a lot to achieve their goals. There are not so many examples like that for young generations now. These people make you follow their cues on,’ the public activist spoke.
Also he shared his view on volunteering.
‘There have been organized resource centers recently where young people should receive governmental and social support for their ideas’ implementation. People must have a chance to do something useful. And we must think how to support it. The most important thing is their ideas. I have visited many youth forums where I saw plenty of inspired young people who did not know how to develop their ideas afterwards,’ marked Ye.A. Primakov.
He invited students to join his debate team on education quality. Yevgeniy Primakov is a member of the pre-poll election for the RF State Duma.
It should be noted that Ye.A. Primakov gave an open lecture in the SSU Big Physical Hall on November 16 last year. Then he examined the political issues on the international scale and analyzed the relations between Russia and western countries. After that Yevgeniy Alexandrovich visited the SSU History Museum and signed the University Distinguished Visitors Book.
