On April 25, gala concert of the regional “Student Spring” festival took place at Saratov Drama Theatre. The concert program included best shows by students of regional universities and academies. The house was full: heads of studios, teachers, friends, family, and university rectors came to support the participants. Students got diplomas in five nominations: music, choreography, theatre, specialty, and journalism. Additionally, awards were given for university concert programs. Saratov University won the first place for its musical “Who are you…?..!..*”. SSU was among the winners of the festival with our artistic team getting the second place.

Gala concert had two parts; it was truly brilliant and driving. Traditional dances and songs of Russian peoples, modern choreography of various styles, circus shows, KVN presentations, and vocal shows drew the audience to exaltation. Regional “Student Spring” was supported by regional government, regional Rectors Council, Saratov branch of Russian Youth Council, and Directorate of Regional Holidays. Honored guests distributed the awards. Saratov Region Duma Chair V.V. Kapkaev thanked students and their mentors for providing this opportunity to bring young people’s talents to light. He wished them to find self-fulfillment in native region and country. He awarded the diploma for the best concert program, to SSU Student Club Director M.A. Pinkhasik. Vice-governor D.V. Fadeev highlighted the fact that students dedicated this biggest artistic festival to two important dates for the region: 80th anniversary of Saratov Region and 55th anniversary of Gagarin’s flight into space. He read a congratulatory address of Saratov Region Governor V.V. Radaev, which said that “Student Spring” festival was very patriotic. “Thank you for remembering, thank you for the continuity”, wrote the Governor. D.V. Fadeev awarded the Festival winners and gave a diploma for the second place to Saratov University Rector A.N. CHumachenko.

After as short break, when the audience discussed their favorite shows, students came on the stage. In the concert program, Saratov University was represented by dance group “Art-mix”, Anna Maliakina and theatre studio “Collage”, Juliana Melkumian and folk music band “Prazdnik”.
