Dear colleagues, students, dear scientist of Saratov University!

On February 8, 1724, Peter the Great signed the decree on foundation of Academy of Science and Arts; 275 years later, on June 7, 1999 President of Russia established our professional holiday. Russian science gave the country and the world great scientists: chemists, physicists, historians, doctors, biologists, philologists, geographers, mathematicians.
Outstanding scientists have worked in Saratov University since its foundation: V.I. Razumovski, S.L. Frank, N.I. Vavilov, V.V. Golubev, E.F. Gross, B.A. Mozharovski, A.P. Skaftymov, N.N. Semenov, A.N. Bakulev, I.G. Petrovski, V.M. Zhirmunski, N.A. Maksimov, D.I. Blokhintsev and many others. SSU is famous for its scientific schools. Our work contributes to the development of our city, region and the coutry.
