SSU improves its positions in Webometrics International Ranking

Saratov State University holds the 11th position in the Webometrics International University ranking among Russian university. The ranking was updated on February, 2. SGU.RU has significantly improved its standing compared to last July climbing 20 positions and landing on 1225th place.

Harvard University (USA) leads the world ranking, MIT (USA) holds the second place, and Stanford University (USA) is number three. Lomonosov Moscow State University opens the national ranking, St. Petersburg State University comes second, and Novosibirsk State University holds the third position.

In 2016, SSU website has significantly improved its results in Web Impact Factor and the number of scientific works published at the university website according to Google Scholar.

Additionally, Saratov University is among top 2000 in citation rating based on academic search engine Google Scholar. There are 10 Russian universities in the ranking; SSU holds the 6th position after MSU, HSE, SPbU, KFU, and MEPhI. The ranking also includes ITMO, UrFU, MIPT, and NSU.

Since 2004 WEBOMETRICS ranking has been done by Cybermetrics Lab that is part of national Information and Documentation Center (CINDOC), Spain. The laboratory specializes in universities and research institutions’ academic activity surveys (scientometrics).
