On September 26, the elections of the president of Saratov State University were held at a meeting of the Academic Council in the Assembly Hall, SSU Bldg. 10.

To remind, on September 15, at a meeting of the Academic Council, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Igor Malinskii was nominated for the elected position.

The quorum gathered there (84 people), and the members of the Academic Council unanimously voted for the appointment of Igor Malinskii to the post of the president of SSU for five years.

Igor Malinskii addressed his colleagues. ‘Thank you for supporting me today. Thank you so much for your trust in me today. Special thanks to Rector Aleksei Chumachenko for suggesting my nomination, for supporting my candidacy at all levels. I will make every effort, use all my knowledge, skills, and experience to solve the tasks that the rector and the Academic Council of the university will set for me. With your support and help, however, as we always do with you, I hope for fruitful work. When I came to the university in 1984, I could not think of myself without Saratov State University anymore. Thank you very much.’
