Saratov State University received a letter of gratitude from Pushkin State Russian Language Institute for its active participation in Russian Language and Education Promotion Program exhibition.
The meeting took place in Pushkin State Russian Language Institute in October. SSU was represented by Institute of Philology and Journalism and Division for International Cooperation and Internationalization workers.
Russian Language and Education Promotion Program works under Russian Language Council with Government of the Russian Federation and Ministry of education and Science. It helps promoting Russian language in the world, developing Russian language skills, competitive positioning of education in Russian and Russian language learning in global educational environment.
At the exhibition Division for International Cooperation and Internationalization workers A.V. Belik, O.A. Markushina and V.D. Orekhova presented SSU work for Russian Language and Education Promotion Program. Associate Professor of the Department of Language Theory and History and Applied Linguistics N.V. Sveshnikova did a presentation on “Multimedia dialectological corpus as a main resource of keeping and studying speech culture”. Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Language and Speech Communication G.S. Kulikova told about the impact of “Russian Language Service” radio program on “Radio Russia” (author and host – I.V. Prozorova, PhD) on speech culture of the region.
According to the Institute of Philology and Journalism Director L.S. Borisova, responsible for the Russian Language and Education Promotion Program realization in Saratov State University, SSU workers succeeded in many areas of the project: Institute of Philology and Journalism teachers completed professional training in Pushkin State Russian Language Institute; Saratov State University took part in the international exhibitions WORLDDIDAC India (New Delhi, India) and “Education XXI century 2014” (Astana, Kazakhstan); organized Summer School and international students essay competition “Russian Language and education in Russia. What does it mean for my career?”; conducted a professional training course for India teachers in Jawaharlal Nehru University; strengthened cooperation with Ankara University. Also university professors developed three open digital courses in Russian Language: “Journalism: Introduction” (A.N. Bolkunov, Associate Professor of the Department of Literary Studies and Journalism), “Ecosystems sustainable development strategies” (V.V. Anikin, Professor of the Department of Animal Morphology and Ecology), “Molecular engineering” (S.B. Venig, Professor of the Department of Material Sciences and Technologies and Quality Management, and E.G. Glukhovskoy, Associate Professor of the Department of Material Sciences and Technologies and Quality Management). SSU Film studio made three educational films for the corresponding courses.
