On September 24–26, 2012 VII conference for young scientists “Nanoelectronics, Nanophotonics and Nonlinear Physics” (NNNPh’12) was held in Saratov. As usually, NNNPh Conference was hosted by Saratov Branch of the Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics, Russian Academy of Science (IRE RAS). This year conference program included 8 Plenary Lectures presented by invited speakers, 50 talks and 51 posters presented by young scientists and students. The presentations were divided in 5 sessions: “Material science. Micro and nanostructures”, “Magnonic, photonic and phononic crystals and metamaterials” “Fiber optics and nanophotonics”, “Opto-, acousto- and magnetoelectronics”, and “Nonlinear physics”. Over 100 participants attended the conference. The book of abstracts was published and distributed at the conference.

Saratov IEEE Chapter is a technical and financial co-sponsor of the NNNPh, and many IEEE members participate actively as members of the Program Committee and Local Organizing Committee. Vice-Chair of the IEEE Russian Section Prof. S.A. Nikitov (IRE RAS, Moscow) served as the Conference Chair. During the conference, he met with Saratov Chapter officers and discussed the current activities and future plans.
