Director of the Institute of History and International Relations Tatyana Cherevichko forever linked her life with the university – students, research, and fellow teachers. Therefore, she believes that she can celebrate Russian Students Day not only because of her name, but also her professional activity.
– How did you choose the course?
– Of course, like many young people who are just on the threshold of a new stage in their lives, my head was spinning and my eyes were running away from the possibilities and options. I was going over it, thinking about who to become. But the final choice was determined by the parents, saying that economics was an area of serious and promising science, with many interesting directions. This is a field where you can develop not only as a theoretical scientist, but also as a professional practitioner. And the parents were right!
– How did you study as a student? Have you participated in the active life of the university?
– I was an exemplary student and studied well. And I have always been attracted to the world of science, so I tried to prove myself most actively in research – I participated in student discussions, developing the skills of reasoned argument, reported at conferences, gaining the skill of public speaking and getting my first research experience. All this became a part of life and provided a good basis for further development in the profession.
– Did you consciously connect your life with the university or did the circumstances develop that way?
– After finishing the specialty course, I entered the postgraduate studies, and it was a completely conscious step. The university has become my home, and I can’t think of myself outside of it. I hope I have also become an important part of the university!
– What can you wish the students on Tatyanas Day?
– May your chosen profession become your life's work, so that your interest in learning and improvement does not fade – because we study and reveal our potential all our lives!
Preserve your youthful enthusiasm, passion, and curiosity, preserve your dreams and ideals. And, of course, make the most of student life – a wonderful period full of discoveries, friendship, love, new roads, and clear horizons!
