The 32nd Russian Student Spring All-Russian festival is to be held in Saratov from May 26 to June 1. The SSU students will compete for victory in five directions of a large-scale youth contest. The main motto of the event programme is Student Spring. Closer to the Stars.
A large-scale opening ceremony will take place this Sunday, May 26, at 8.30 p.m. at Theatre Square. The concert will last for 108 minutes – during this time, Yuri Gagarin made his famous flight around the Earth. The residents of Saratov will be able to attend the celebration.
This year, the Student Spring is held as part of the Year of the Family and is timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's birth. Therefore, the organisers chose this topic for the festival – Saratov is closely connected with the first cosmonaut of the planet.
The participants will reveal the space topic of the Student Spring in their performances. More than 3,600 young people from more than 80 regions of the country will show their talents this year. The competition programme will last until May 30.
‘The preparations for the festival have already reached the finish line. We tried to make the finals of the Student Spring different from others and held at the highest level,’ said Deputy Prine Minister of Saratov Region, Minister of Education of the region Mikhail Orlov.
Students from all over Russia are looking forward to the main youth event of the year and are preparing for the final stage very hard. More than 80 reputable figures of art and culture of the country will come to Saratov to evaluate the performances. The Student Spring experts will see more than 1,500 performances in 50 nominations in 10 directions – Regional Programme, Singing, Instrumental, Dancing, Drama, Circus, Fashion, Media, Video, and Art.
For the guests of the event, a “festival town” is built in the city, which will be located at Theatre Square. Every day, there will be performances by the participants of individual and regional programmes. Also, meetings with experts and master classes in creative directions will be organised for the students.
Saratov State University will be represented at the Russian Student Spring by:
- – Anastasia Bulgakova, a student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics, in the Folk Dance nomination (May 28 at the Border Club, 1A Cosmonaut Embankment);
- – Diana Vailova, a student of the Faculty of Arts, in the Modern Dance nomination (May 29 at the Border Club, 1A Cosmonaut Embankment);
- – the Paribashte theatre in the Variety Sketch nomination (May 29 in the Maly Young Spectators’ Theatre, 83 Volskaya Str.);
- – a student of the Institute of Philology and Journalism Svetlana Averyanova in the Evening Fashion nomination (May 30 at the Sports Palace, Bldg. 2, 63 Chernyshevsky Str.);
- – a student of the Faculty of Arts Vladislava Reshetnikova in the Academic Singing nomination (May 27 at the Conservatory).
You will be able to see the bright performances of local participants at the presentation of the Saratov Region programme in the Regional Programme. I League direction. It will take place on May 30 at 7 p.m. at the Kiselyov Young Spectators’ Theatre. The plot was based on a creative idea proposed by the SSU Student Club.

The awarding ceremony will take place on May 31. The winners of the nominations will be announced and the results among the regions will be summed up. All participants are welcome t a large-scale gala concert in honour of the end of the festival.
In addition, for the first time, the festival will become a youth platform for organising and holding the All-Russian competition of youth projects, Romolodezh.Grants.
More than 500 applications have been submitted by the participants during the preparation for the Student Spring. The presentation of grant projects will take place at the festival. The winners of the competition will be able to receive money of up to 1,000,000 roubles for the implementation of their projects.
The 32nd Russian Student Spring All-Russian festival is held by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of Russia, Rosmolodezh, the Russian Youth Union, and the government of Saratov Region.
