The Commission of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation has summed up the annual results of the implementation by universities of the basic part of the grant of the Priority 2030 state university support programme.
118 universities from 50 regions of the Russian Federation will become grantees in 2024. The total amount of financing of the basic part for the next year will amount to 17.98 billion roubles. For comparison, in 2023, the volume of financing amounted to 13.48 billion roubles.
The programme creates a competitive situation in the higher education system, which encourages universities to develop, commented Valerii Falkov, Minister of Higher Education and Science of Russia, on the outcome of the distribution of the basic part of the grant.
‘As we agreed earlier, the Priority 2030 programme is open. This means that those universities that show insufficient dynamics will lose their participant status or be transferred from the special part of the grant to the basic one. Conversely, those universities that are not represented in the program today will be able to apply after working on it well,’ the minister stressed.
In 2024, 106 universities, including the new 6 universities, will receive the basic part of the grant. Its size ranges from 100 to 378 million roubles for each university. And 12 more universities participating in the Far Eastern track will receive from 120.3 to 288.6 million roubles each.
SSU retained its position among the universities receiving the basic part of the grant: the university took 19th place in the overall ranking of universities based on the results of the assessment of annual reports. The high performance of SSU ensured an increase in funding for the Priority: in 2024, the university will receive 139.8 million roubles for the implementation of its development programme.
The university continues implementing four strategic projects – Personalised Medicine Technologies, ICT Electronics, Chemistry and New Materials, and Teachers in the Educational Paradigm.
The active implementation of the first three R&D projects led to an almost twofold increase in one of the most difficult indicators for classical universities – income from business agreements with industry customers. Among the key partners of the SSU are PJSC Gazpromneft, JSC Hydraulics, JSC Apatit (PhosAgro Group), Samsung LLC, NPP Injection (Rosatom), GC Rubezh, JSC Russian Railways Privolzhskaya Railway, Altai Precision Products Plant, Barnaul (AZPI), and Yaroslavl plant of diesel equipment, Yaroslavl (YAZDA).
Due to the Teachers in the Educational Paradigm unique project, the Pedagogical Classroom for high school students has been working at the university for the third year. This year, Saratov University hosted the opening of the third season of the educational project. More than 600 people have applied for training. Students of three educational institutions of the People's Republic of Luhansk joined Saratov schoolchildren remotely.
Young teachers take part in the Summer School for Young Teachers and the Week of Pedagogical Education annual festival. The university Olympiad in Pedagogy for bachelors and undergraduates, as well as the Step into the Profession student competition of professional skills remain important components of the Week.
As part of the system of continuing pedagogical education, the university has created an internship for graduate teachers whose work experience at the school does not exceed three years. The Consilium Support Centre for Young Teachers works at Gymnasium No. 7. This stage of the pedagogical module contributes to the adaptation of young teachers to the real working conditions at school.
