New online courses are launched on the Ipsilon Uni portal of distance education of Saratov University. They have been developed by the university teaching staff members using the technologies of the Jalinga self-recording studio as part of the implementation of the Priority 2030 development programme. SSU students have an opportunity to enroll in courses and master them for free.
All courses include video lectures, additional materials, tasks for current control and final certification. Mastering the courses takes from 4 to 10 weeks. The courses can be used as additional material for the development of disciplines or individual modules within the main curricula. In addition, after successfully completing the courses and passing the final exams, students can count on regrading of the relevant disciplines included in their main curriculum.
An online course titled The vectors of Russian state policy aimed at forming national identity: a historical retrospective (authors: Associate Professors of the Department of National History and Historiography Vladimir Khasin and Anton Luchnikov).
The course is dedicated to authorities relations in Russia from a historical perspective, the mechanisms of constructing its institutional environment, demonstrates the principles and forms of communication between the government and the society. The course is based on a communication approach that allows us to identify the complexity of social mythology due to the development of communication tools and the emergence of new forms for the objectification of mythological meaning. The authors pay special attention to the mythology of the modern consumer society. Social mythology not only determines the ontological level of ideas about social reality, but is also a tool for controlling and manipulating the behaviour of the society. Modern mythology combines both spontaneous myth-making processes and purposeful conscious production of myths. The course reflects the social and philosophical tradition of the study of myth as a phenomenon of social life.

Public control is one of the dynamically developing institutions of democracy and at the same time an effective way to protect human and civil rights and freedoms.
