On 15-17 November there were held classes for the first group of the re-training course titled the Data Management – Chief Data Officer in Government Agencies. Ordered by the Agency for Strategic Development the project is implemented by Saratov University, and its goal is to train personnel within the Digital Economy National Project.
100 people have attended this course, namely regional and municipal education manager; school principals; teachers who head methodology groups and are in charge of research in their schools. The second group will start the course on 22 November. Its members will become members of education staff from the Belgorod, Chelyabinsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, and Yaroslavl Regions, the Perm and Stavropol Krais, and the Chechen Republic.
It should be noted that the project members also include representatives from hub schools of the Russian Academy of Sciences from Saratov (Gymnasium №1, Liberal Arts Lyceum), Belgorod (Shukhov Lyceum, Lyceum №9), Stavropol (Gymnasium №25, Lyceum №14), Perm (Gymnasium №4 named after the Kamenskikh Brothers), and Chelyabinsk (Lyceum №77, Gymnasium №80, Physics and Mathematics Lyceum №31, and School №5 with Advanced Mathematics Learning of Magnitogorsk).
The lessons lasted for 12 hours from 8.30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The lectures consisted of three parts – CDO-management theory and practice, endowment pedagogy, CDO-project technology. What is more, the course members listened to lectures of two experts from Moscow – Head of the Digital Development Centre Programme Yana A. Kovalenko and Chair of the Department of Mathematics of Skolkovo International Gymnasium, a leading specialist of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology Aleksei I. Zaitsev.
Yana Kovalenko commented the real situations Agency for Strategic Development had dealt with as the case studies and showed how to use data to cope with management issues. Then the course students divided into 4 teams and analysed education matters from different angles.
Being the author of the education project in mathematics Aleksei Zaitsev also demonstrated a real case developed on the interactive platform of Skolkovo International Gymnasium. A few years ago that project was nominated for the UNESCO Award for the use of ICT in Russian education.
The project work was organised together with Dipol Business School. The region teams will develop the projects aimed at education and management tasks involving the data. The course members will accomplish those tasks off-line up to 6 December when the second on-site intensive course starts. The first group of the students will present their projects on 8 December. The second group of 100 people will begin studying on 22 November.
