On 24 September, SSU Sport Club celebrated SSU football team that won the 2nd Annual National Student Football League Championship and NSFL Competition tournament.

Saratov Region Minister for Youth Policy, Sport and Tourism, Chair of the Department of Sport and Physical Training N.B. Brilienok, SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko, Vice-rector for educational and social work I.G. Malinski and Director of Institute of Sport and Physical Training I.Yu. Vodolagina congratulated the sportsmen. Best SSU sportsmen - winners of Russian and International competitions also attended the meeting.

Rector A.N. Chumachenko congratulated SSU team on their successful performance saying that the University and the country is proud of them.”Your victory enhances the university prestige and is very important for us”, says the Rector.

The participants discussed the development of sport movement in the region. 2014 is the 5th Anniversary year for SSU Sport Club that hosts over 30 sport clubs and sections.

A.N. Chumachenko also mentioned that Saratov State University supports sportsmen and develops its sport facilities. For instance, SSU swimming pool opening is planned for 2016.
