SSU is among world best universities

British international consulting agency Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) published the 10th World Best University Ranking. This year they looked at 863 universities and 3000 largest educational institutions.

QS Top-800 included 21 Russian universities. Saratov State University got on the list for the first time. SSU is among 50 universities placed between 601-650 positions.

Saratov State University is number 15 among Russian universities and the only institution from saratov Region.

QS World University Rankings is based upon 4 main criteria: quality of research and education, employment level and internationalization. Its methodology uses 6 indicators: academic reputation (40%), university reputation among employers (10%), student-faculty ratio (20%), citation index (20%), number of international students (5%) and professors (5%).

At student-faculty ratio Saratov University has the leading position in Russia and is number 9 in the world.

It is the first time Saratov State University is included in the ranking which proves its high quality of education and its scientific and technological growth.

Leader among Russian universities is Lomonosov Moscow State University (number 114), in the Volga region Kazan Federal University leads the ranking. SSU shows the same results as, for example, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Shanghai Normal University and others.

In June 2014, Saratov State University was included in the list of top universities of BRICS countries holding the 26th place among Russian universities.
