The meeting between Saratov State University Administration, representatives of «Russian electronics» and Saratov Region Government members took place in SSU on 9 October, 2014. The meeting was attended by SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko, SSU President L.Yu. Kossovich, Joint Institute of Micro- and Nano-electronics Director A.V. Rossoshanski, Saratov companies directors, SSU deans. Among the honored guests were Saratov Region Minister for Industry and Energetics S.M. Lisovski, Minister for Economic development and Investment policy A.V. Pozharov and “Russian Electronics” CEO A.V. Brykin. The event commenced the start of “IT breakthrough” regional tournament.
“Russian Electronics” works in partnership with 50 leading Russian universities, and Saratov State University is among them. The University has several corporate departments based at “Russian Electronics” companies. Together they develop several projects including RF tags. A.V. Brykin shared the plans to increase their production up to 1,000,000 a month. RF tags could be used in defense industry, on transport and in other areas.
Students can enjoy great opportunities, too. They can take part in different contest and projects organized by “Russian Electronics”. First of all, students are invited to participate in “IT breakthrough” tournament. The organization board invites projects in 6 categories: IT in Radioelectronics, IT in Medicine, IT in Education, IT in Energetics, IT Security, and Telecom Ideas. Best projects would be implemented by “Russian Electronics” companies. Last year SSU graduate student Roman Ardazishvili won 3rd place with his “Virtual surgery” project.
Soon starts another creative competition “My university/company’s role in Russian electronics”. The winners will do one-week training in “Russian Electronics” company and get invited to All-Russia Forum “Engineers of the Future” as a Russian Electronics team member. This year Russian Electronics joint team became the winner of the Forum. Four young scientists from Saratov State University were on the team; they got their awards from A.V. Brykin.
In his speech SSU President L.Yu. Kossovich said that it is a big honor for the University to work together with “Russian Electronics”. Electronics plays a huge role in University’ history.
Saratov Region Minister for Industry and Energetics S.M. Lisovski congratulated his colleagues with the start of “IT breakthrough” tournament. He noticed that SSU is a National Research University included in the list of World best universities. It does a lot to bring education, research and production together.
“IT breakthrough” applications could be filled in on the official web site before March 2015. The tournament is open for students, graduate student and young scientists under the age of 24.
