Koniukhov, Andrei Nikolaevich, born May 8, 1972, graduated Saratov State University, Faculty of Physics in 1994. He completed graduate studies at SSU in 1997. His graduate studies were funded by International Science Foundation and International Soros Science Education Program scholarships.
In 1998, A.I. Koniukhov defended a PhD thesis “Non-linear Dynamics of Transverse Structure of Polarized Fields in Lasers and Resonance Media”. In 2007, he received the title of Associate Professor at the Department of Laser and Computer Physics.
A.I. Koniukhov’s scientific interests concern modeling non-linear dynamics of optical beams and impulses and optics of photonic-crystal structures and optic fibers.
His work on “Non-linear waves, Chaos and Structures in Distributed Systems and Active Media” under Research and Education Center “Non-linear Dynamics and Biophysics” program were supported by individual grants in 2000-2002.
Since 2002 he has been a member of organization committee of International School on Optics, Laser Physics and Biophysics for Young Scientists and Students (Saratov Fall Meeting). His research in spatiotemporal dynamics of laser beams were supported by DAAD grants to fund his training in Institute of Applied Physics, Munster, Germany.
Research in spectral transformation of ultra short light pulse when in wave guide photonic-crystal structures was supported by individual grants from the Competition Centre of Fundamental Nature-knowledge (2004) and scientific program “Developing Scientific Potential of Higher School” (2004).
