An interview with Aleksei Chumachenko was published on the Rector’s Speaking! information and analytical portal. There, he spoke about three elements, due to which SSU achieves the target model of a world-class university.

‘We are a university which is trying to support youth aimed at the development of Russia. At the same time, we are by no means abandoning the mission of a world-class university,’ Aleksei Chumachenko. The rector noted that in order to achieve this target model, Saratov State University needs three components: interdisciplinary studies in fundamental sciences, focusing on tasks from industrial partners, and focusing the tasks of the region.

In the interview, the rector talks how the university is participating in the Priority 2030 federal programme, about young scientists and their promising research, the strategic directions of the university development, the establishment of modern laboratories, cooperation with business partners, the distribution of universities by categories, and work with potential enrollees and talented children.

At the end of the interview, he was waiting for a small “exam” – hot-seat questions from the portal journalists – how difficult it is to pass the exam to the rector himself, about free time, and doing science.
