Saratov State University conducted “Health Spartakiade” 2014-2015 between university faculty and staff members. The award ceremony took place in Bldg. X on March, 17.
SSU Vice-rector for educational and organizational work I.G. Malinski and the Institute of Sports and Physical Training Director I.Yu. Vodolagina congratulated the sportsmen. In his opening speech Malinski, I.G. said the Spartakiade was very rich and interesting and its results were sometimes unexpected. “I congratulate all the participants on their great results. It is very important that young people take an active part in the contest together with well-known sportsmen”.
At the awarding ceremony the winners received medals, goblets, certificates. This year’ “Health Spartakiade” included 10 sport disciplines: chess, swimming, darts, table tennis, badminton, volleyball, five-a-side, streetball, skiing, and GTO.
This year, Faculty of Nano- and Biomedical Technologies sportsmen won the chess tournament; Faculty of Sociology representatives were the first in swimming; Faculty of Nano- and Biomedical Technologies won at darts; Faculty of Physics sportsmen were the best at table tennis, volleyball and badminton. University staff team won five-a-side. Faculty of Geography team was first at streetball and GTO.
In overall standings, the third place was awarded to Faculty of Nano- and Biomedical Technologies and Faculty of Sociology; second place went to Faculty of Physics; Faculty of Geography won the first place.
Overall standing awards will be given at the Academic Council meeting on March 24, 2015.
