On December 12, SSU hosted the annual talent show “Miss and Mister SSU-2014” dedicated to the 105th Anniversary of the university. This year Miss and Mister SSU are 2-year student Eva Yakubovskaia and 5-year student David Musaelian.
15 contestants took two months to prepare for the final. They had a lot of rehearsals, thought of their creative images for a traditional photo set, made video presentations – they made everything to conquer the hearts of spectators and get the title of Miss and Mister SSU.
The jury included SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko, vice-rector for educational and organizational work I.G. Malinski, the leading trainer of the Regional Shaping Federation L.N. Shirshova, news program “Vesti 24” producer Anna Goltiakova, First Vice-Miss SSU-2004, GTRK “Saratov” and “Silver rain” anchor Tatiana Kozhakaru, Miss Russian “Student spring festival”- 2013 Margarita Parkina, director of “Entre” school, deputy director of SSU Institute of Arts for artistic work I.A. Prepelkin, director of “photoOTDEL” photo studio Eldar Abdurashitov.
That evening’s program included 4 rounds: defile, video presentation, quiz, and artistic program.
During defile the jury could see and evaluate the participants. Then the contestants presented their videos. They were not only actors but also directors of their presentations. They tried different images: a detective, a superhero, a student, and a well-off man. E.g,. Anna Sharaevskaia solved the mystery of a lost memory card; Artem Beliaev showed his ordinary day full of heroic deeds; Anastasia Minasian carried out a journalist investigation of SSU.
The quiz had a difficult topic: “Could we know the world?”. The participants quoted the great philosophers and expressed their personal opinions on the issue. They showed not only their creative talents, but also their oratorical skills.
SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko asked a special question: “Could we forecast weather?” Although the question was quite unexpected, the participants gave very interesting and original answers.
The show concluded with an artistic program.
Roman Verkhovski and Anna Sharaevskaia joined their forces – Roman played the guitar while Anna drew on sand. Ksenia Kasutina did a dancing sketch “Coco Chanel”; Alina Zviagintseva sang a cover on Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi”. Daria Iliasova presented her stand-up show. Anastasia Minasian danced a classic “Carmen”, and Denis Ladonkin recited “Chlopusha’s monologue” from Esenin’s poem “Pugachev”.
All contestants got presents form SSU partners. Cinema House singled out Anna Sharaevskaia and Denis Ladonkin for their special nomination. Denis Ladonkin and Yulia Ivanova won the Internet competition. Anastasia Minasian and Alexandr Gavrilov became “Miss and Mister Friendship”. Anastasia Minasian and Denis Ladonkin also got audience award. Yulia Ivanova and Roman Verkhovski won “Miss and Mister Photo” nomination. Yulia Ivanova and Alexandr Gavrilov became “Miss and Mister TV”.
Now the talent show results: Miss and Mister Student Club - Ksenia Kasutina and Denis Ladonkin; second vise-miss – Ksenia Nemova; second vise-mister – Artem Beliaev; SGUshenka award went to Denis Ladonkin and Anastasia Minasian. First vice-miss is Anastasia Minasian; first vice-mister – Anatoli Abalymov.
Eva Yakubovskaia and David Musaelian became Miss and Mister SSU-2014. They got their awards from SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko and Miss Russian “Student spring festival”- 2013 Margarita Parkina.
