Field meeting of Saratov State University Research and Methodology Council on Teachers Education took place at the Lyceum of Humanities and Economics on December 1, 2014. the meeting’s topic was “Corporate department in “university-school” networking model”.

SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko, Vice-rector for Education work E.G. Elina, Chair of the Saratov Administration Committee on Education I.M. Archipova and others participated in the meeting.

Before the official meeting the lyceum director M.I. Orlov showed the school to the guests.

E.G. Elina opened the meeting with her welcoming speech. She highlighted the fact that these meetings are always of interest for university representatives as well as the lyceum and other schools teachers. “We are glad the Committee on Education people take part in the meeting today. It means this topic is very important”, said E.G. Elina.

SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko also welcomed the party and thanked the lyceum administration for their warm reception and interesting excursion. “I believe everyone here is interested in Research and Methodology Council work. The university deals mainly with scientific and innovative aspect of work. But we also pay great attention to teachers’ education. SSU includes 21 structural units that prepare teachers for Saratov and other regions. Opening a corporate department at the lyceum is a step we made first in the country. I think this would be an example for other universities and similar departments would open everywhere”, said the rector. Then he awarded Certificates of Merit to the lyceum teachers.

Then the Department of Russian Philology and Media Education Chair O.I. Dmitrieva told about the direction of a new department work. The new unit was founded over a year ago with the support by SSU President L.Yu. Kossovich, Vice-rector for Education work E.G. Elina, lyceum director M.I. Orlov and Institute of Philology and Journalism. It works with students who study at teacher education programs, language and literature teachers and school students. The department has its own website. “Today teachers’ education programs are going through modernization. I took part in “Inter-regional conference on results of teachers’ education modernization project” that helped to better understand the main directions of its development. There are some problems: insufficient professional training, low employment level, week connection between research work and teaching practice, etc.”, said O.I. Dmitrieva.

The corporate department will help to solve these problems. The Lyceum of Humanities and Economics has become a platform for teaching practice on History. “Creative lab for language and literature teachers” founded in the lyceum works under supervision of L.V. Zimina and M.I. Kabanova. The lab offers different activities on school textbooks and notebooks development, student portfolio and other issues.

Workshop “Unified informational and educational environment development in “university-school” networking model” works at the department. Its main topics are networking as a way of research and methodology support of education, manifold text analysis, final qualifying composition writing methods, etc.

Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Philology and Media Education K.M. Zainetdinova and M.I. Orlov told about some special features of “Unified informational and educational environment development in “university-school” networking model” platform and its work. Its main goal is to create and support high prestige of language and literature teacher’s work, create an informational and educational resources bank.

The platform’s work includes five stages. The first stage included diagnostic works and platform approbation, development of the legal base and possible risks analysis. The second stage deals with development of platform’s methodological program and its informational support. The third stage includes research and education work on student development. To reach this goal it is planned to open a new language and literature class, to have more city and regional competitions in language and media education, to found a school summer camp for students interested in language and literature studies, to organize professional training for teachers.

The fourth stage intends to analyze the program results. At the fifth stage the organizers will perform expert analysis on the project. The work will result in publications in regional and federal journals, collections of works publications and methodological recommendations, internet publications.

The meeting continued with M.I. Kabanova’s presentation where she spoke about the Creative lab work and student professional training. Associate professors of the Department of Russian Philology and Media Education A.V. Raeva and G.M. Altynbaeva told the Council about research work with school students.

After the meeting the gusts participated in a methodological workshop “ICT as a trend in modern university and school education”.
