Students of Institute of Philology and Journalism – Finalists of MEDIACODE Contest
Students of the Institute of Philology and Journalism Aelita Ponomaryova, Polina Gromova, and Victoria Kuznetsova have gone to Orel, where from September 20 to September 23 they will take an internship as part of the media centre of the forum entitled The Science of the Future – the Science of the Young.
The students received the opportunity to work in the media centre team as the finalists of the MEDIACODE competition, where the applicants had sent their journalistic publications about scientific discoveries and the achievements of scientists. The competition was held in seven categories – Flash (photo), Topic (copywriting), Synthesis (media projects), Discourse (podcasts), Star of Science (personal brand in media), Digital (digital projects), and Clear (scientific-popular projects).
The shortlist includes the Yes, I Am a Laboratory Rat longread by a master’s degree student of the Institute of Philology and Journalism Aelita Ponomaryova (the Clear nomination), the We Hold the Charge article by a master’s degree student of the Institute of Philology and Journalism Polina Gromova (the Star of Science nomination), and the Three Edges podcast by a third-year student Victoria Kuznetsova (the Discourse nomination). Polina and Aelita are working as correspondents in the Office of Media Communications, SSU, and Victoria is the content editor of the telegram channel of the Sweet Milk student project.
The finalists of the competition will cover the forum on their pages in social networks, the official channels of universities, and student media. The awarding will take place at the official closing ceremony of the forum on September 23 in Orel.
The MEDIACODE contest for students and media centres of universities is held as part of the 8th All-Russian Youth Scientific Forum entitled The Science of the Future – the Science of the Young and the Popularisation of Science and Technology federal project with the support of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
